been a while
well its been quite a long time since i last posted anything
at the moment, my roommate is blasting music indiscriminately
hes probably going to be yelled at by the girl next door yet again
i remember her putting up a facebook status of
“playing loud punk music doesn’t make you punk”
i laughed really hard at that (on the inside)
well anyways
yesterday i gave a pint of my precious life energy to the american red cross
in turn i got a sweet new long sleeve t shirt
even though its a XL i’m still happy
(i love free stuff)
random side note:
yeah the ladies directing the blood drive were really funny
they were.. really.. “black”?
that sounds racist, but i’m not sure how else to put it
maybe culturally enriched?
whatever
but either way, they were mad cool
however, when she was pulling the monsterous needle out of my arm
she messed up
blood kinda spurted all over my arm
i was like..
“wow dude that’s my blood”
(in my head again)
i just acted like a man and pretended i was fond at the sight of blood
after having had my blood drawn
i didn’t really feel anything immediately afterwards but man i felt it today
during conditioning today my heart rate wouldn’t slow down
my endurance was at rock bottom
and we almost got into a fight with people for court space
(yeah it gets good)
well we had just finished our ladder of sprints
we probably did a mile of sprints
and like a mile of other random running drills
doesn’t seem like a lot
but when you’re running as hard as you can
it sucks..
huge..
black..
veiny..

haha yeah, on with the story
we had just finished our sprints and we try to claim just one half of a basketball court
i mind you they did NOT have a game going
so we thought we could take half the court
turns out they were about to play a full court game
so we asked them if they would mind if we could took half the court
for one thing
they were just a group people playing ball
(which is cool)
i felt kinda like an ass trying to restrict them
but you know our CLUB team never gets any court time and we have a tournament this weekend
i was kinda bent on getting this area
we tried to be as nice about it as possible
but then this “gentlemen” started yelling and saying “yo” every other two words
yelling “yo we goin’ play ball, yo. yo we be here yo. yo to other courts yo.”
or something along those lines
but yeah
i got sort of pissed
he was rising his voice and yelling like he freakin’ owned the place
so i started walking toward him asking
“why you raising your voice man?”
i don’t remember exactly what else i said but i honestly wanted to kick him in the face
i remember cruton saying something like..
“we have ten people, you have ten people; why can’t we split the courts……. SON?”
hahahaha!
(70% of them were black)
although one of them was being a douche
everyone else was chill about it
honestly though, i thought we were going to start fighting after cruton said that..
he told us later that it accidently came out
luckly before anyone (including myself) got really mad, danny handled the situation with his “skillz”
anyways yeah we ended up getting a free court on the other side
everything ended nice and peacefully
oh yeah! i forgot to say how badly i sucked today
i got tired after like 1 minute of playing time
who knew blood was so important?

today was a rather pleasant day
i went to class
eat food
more food
and more food
mostly fruits and small snacks to maintain my metabolism
anyways
i’m now going to assess my over all performance increase
well first of all
i lost about 15 pounds of body fat
but gained something along the lines of.. 5 pounds of muscle?
or maybe, its 5 pounds of fat
and 15 pounds of muscle?
beats me
but i’m averaging at about 170 pounds
i’m pretty satisfied with where i am
however, i’ll strive even further!
today i had a time trial!
i call it the “mile”
pretty original right guys?
well i manged to achieve a mighty 5:51!
(minutes:seconds)
but i was pretty proud of myself
we decided to time ourselves every 2 weeks or so
although i’m thinking of timing myself every month instead, haha
well on with other matters!

i’m not exactly sure which one i want to do
but i guess i have time to decide later on

i haven’t posted anything in a while
but heres a short post for you
it’s 9:15 AM
and my whole body hurts
a lot
knees are swollen
shoulder muscles are fatigued
charlie horses in my quadriceps
torn skin on my elbow
feels like i tried to layout for a disc way out of bounds or something
oh wait
..i did
it also kinda feels like i got clipped by cruton with his chest muscles
that’s right
..i did
ha, well last night was still a lot of fun
got class soon

marathon? more training? i think so.
well today was rather fullfilling?
i went to class
payed attention
studied after class
went to class again
studied some more
then at 9 pm i went to conditioning
it wasn’t that intense but it was still a fairly good workout
i’ve dropped about 10-15 pounds since the start of my own training regiment
i’m pretty sure i dropped a pant size or two as well
it’s kinda cool maybe?
i think PJ is joining in on the fun
‘fun’ being painful leg mangling training
(not too sure about carlos, his will waivers sometimes)
i’m sure PJ will cut twice as much as me if he doesn’t waiver!
especially if he doesn’t reach for a fourth plate of rice
this is somewhat random but i realized if you don’t diet AND exercise
you’re not going to lose weight
i remember i read these wise words somewhere
a patient asks:
“which should i do to lose weight, diet, or exercise?”
doctor/expert replies:
“do you want your airplane to have one wing or two?”
well enough of that
remember when i said carlos, PJ, and i were going to participate in a marathon?
well i think we’re serious

i read through some of the training programs and such
it’s pretty intense
in the 10k training schedule
you end up running for 75 minutes near the end of the training
thats pretty intense
but with hard work i think we could all pull this off
but we might have to make a few adjustments to ensure we don’t get have any injuries
knee injuries to be precise
despite what i said earlier
if we did undergo the marathon training i’d say that would count for the ‘fun’ we would have
my contacts are dry, and i have class tomorrow
time to dream some sweet dreams
today
today our usual group gathered for dinner
it felt like we hadn’t let UMBC
but then again it felt like something was missing
thai wasn’t there
i was pretty sad
oh well i’m sure i’ll see him again some day

anyways after dinner
we went to my room we chilled out
played some guitar hero
it was a jolly old time
around 8:30 PM we headed for the RAC
upon getting there, the gym was wide open for use!
luckily we had a frisbee and we got to toss it around for a good while
it felt really good
i mean really good
then we ran, did push ups, sit ups, etc
we did that for about an hour and a half
it was a pretty wicked workout
my legs hurt
my abs feel like diamonds
my arms are steel
we’ve decided to do this everyday
but then again i’m not sure i can do it everyday plus future ultimate practice?
well i’m sure i’ll figure something out
i also realized coming to UMBC has made my calorie intake to sky rocket
i wish i could just have light snacks throughout the day but of course my meal plan forbids such things
i have to shovel food into my stomach while i can
well i’m sure i’ll survive somehow
oh yeah PJ, maybe carlos and i decided to try a marathon by the end of our college career

man i’m going to need to train a lot

training schedule?!
so i got an email describing the new ultimate practice schedule
man i’m disappointed!
we only have practice 3 times a week
if i’m not mistaken the practice follows as..
tuesday 1-4 erickson
wednesday 8-10 RAC
friday 3-5 erickson
well at least we have meeches morning conditioning
and we might have throwing practice!
so i’m not too disappointed

yesterday was pretty eventful
i got a sweet new hair cut

as i was standing in line to pay for my shoes i got a phone call from one of my peeps
since i had all the goods in my hand it took a bit of time to get my phone

my ringtone is “rapper’s delight”
its an old school rap song
anyways it was my turn in the line and the cashier was black
(i am not saying all black people listen to rap)
but she happens to say to me
“man, thats ol’ school right thur, mmhmm!”
hahahah!
man i thought she was awesome
we go on to talk and agree it would appear our thoughts on rap were quite similar
i remember she also said
“that’s when rap had a meaning, not the crap today”
amazing!

oh by the way
kohl’s was having an amazing sale that day
everything was 60%-90% off!
i went straight to the 90% rack
i got 2 shirts each costing $3.60
holy crap it felt awesome
well last night/early this morning
my brothers and i had a fairly amusing chill session
of course it had a lot of laughs about really random stuff
ranging from the amount of calories in a senzu bean (DBZ)
to “BBB” you meet at sauna’s
(we laughed about that for a pretty long time)
we also talked a lot about one particular ultimate frisbee game
it took place at the EARL tournament
did i mention it was single most amazing game i had ever played in my entire life?

i realized during this break i’ve matured more than i have my entire life

or a regulated schedule

but it seems as though i’ve become more mature
when i say mature, i mean it in the broadest sense possible
physically
mentally
emotional
probably in every aspect that can possibly come to mind
putting this into words is a little difficult
but i guess people from high school might notice
i wanna play ultimate
i can’t wait for spring training and tournaments to come around
(oh if you didn’t know PJ, and carlos are the “brothers” i was referring to)

man these past few days have been kinda eventful?
yesturday i had to watch the cleaners for some 6 hours
wasn’t much work

well i did do some work
working out
i actually developed a new training technique
i call it
“drying bagging cleaning”
i have no idea why i call it that

(if you’re curious as to who took the pictures, it was my sister)
i did some of that
and did a lot of this

well after many hours of that crap
i went to circuit city
and got a brand spanking zune zune zune!
woooo!
this thing is soooo tiz-ight

a proprietary USB cable
and ‘premium earbuds’
not really premium
but definitely better than what you would normally get from a stock mp3 player

and finally my zune connected and functional

oh what fun i’m going to have with this little device!
to be honest i was skeptical about the software it was coming with
but the interface isn’t too bad
it doesn’t take up too many resource as apposed to itunes
only thing that kinda pisses me off is the fact it only supports WMV, and M4V video files
not only that
i have to manually convert all my files into a compatible format
took me a few hours to find a decent program that would convert the files for free without any watermarks
or other random limitations
i’m hoping in the future they’ll have some firmware/software updates to fix some stuff
but all in all
the zune is bangin’
(my back pocket is really light now)
